Advisory Committees

The Consortium employs three standing committees that serve to both inform the Consortium's planning and execution and to provide additional opportunities for community input. Each committee is made up of representatives from the Uptown community, executives from Consortium members and topic experts from Tristate businesses and organizations.

Community Development Committee
The Community Development Committee is focused on the economic and physical revitalization of Uptown, leveraging the area's many assets, including students, major employers, Uptown's diversity and the more than $300 million in community development projects already underway. The Committee's plan includes raising $100 million equity and Uptown mortgage funds, marketing Uptown, and the revitalization of the area's neighborhood business districts.

Neighborhood Services Committee
The Neighborhood Services Committee is focused on working with Consortium member institutions and a variety of area service providers to help improve Uptown neighborhoods. The Committee is engaged in the general areas of education, healthcare and economic inclusion - including efforts to lead the National Urban League's economic empowerment agenda.

Public Safety Committee
The Public Safety Committee is charged with helping to realize the Consortium's goal of a safe, attractive and walkable community for Uptown residents, employees, students and visitors. Its focus is on increasing actual and perceived public safety presence; launching graffiti removal and street cleaning initiatives; and identifying and targeting negligent property owners with the City's assistance.
