If you ask Dunkin’ Donuts/Baskin Robbins owner Mike Rielly what makes his store so special, he’ll quickly tell you it’s his staff. “My staff and crew are committed to making your visit to our store a pleasant experience,” said Reilly.
Rielly heavily recruited workers who live in Uptown neighborhoods to staff the new store on Martin Luther King Drive. In fact, 26 members of his staff received employment training through the Mt. Auburn Community Council’s
“Learn and Earn” Program. “I’m planning on opening two more stores in the next couple of years,” explained Rielly. “Each member of my crew has a chance on the ground floor to move their way up in this business. In fact, three members of my crew were promoted before the store even opened.”
According to Rielly, he chose Uptown for the location of his new store because of all of the new business and residential developments that are coming to the area. “There are a lot of wonderful things happening in Uptown,” said Rielly. “This area is about to explode in terms of a revitalization. I truly believe in this community.”
The new store features the traditional coffee, donuts and pastries that Dunkin’ Donuts is famous for, as well as a new “anytime” snack menu.
“We’re offering the expanded menu because we want to give people who live and work in the area other lunchtime options,” said Rielly. The snack menu features three cheese, ham and Swiss, or turkey, bacon and cheddar flatbread sandwiches and grab-n-go pizza. The store also has an “anytime” breakfast menu that includes hash browns and a choice of your favorite breakfast items served on an English muffin, croissant or bagel.
“Our food is made to order and priced for the community,” said Rielly. “And our drive-thru is open 24 hours a day. We also make ice cream cakes to order and offer special “ice cream of the month flavors.”
