The collective communities of Clifton Heights, University Heights and Fairview have an eclectic, educated population abuzz with youthful energy. Born from Cincinnati’s early incline system, this area was initially intended to be an area of single-family dwellings. But as the University of Cincinnati grew, many single-family homes (large, turn-of the-century brick and frame houses) have been converted into rental apartments. The combined neighborhoods have a population of 15,992 people, almost half of whom are single. The largest group of residents falls into the 18 to 35 age group.
