New Mural Brightens Sycamore Hill

The care and upkeep of community spaces is critical to the future of successful urban neighborhoods.  That’s why an ongoing partnership between Uptown Consortium and Keep Cincinnati Beautiful is so important to incremental renovations of outdoor spaces in the neighborhoods of Uptown Cincinnati.

Recently the Mt. Auburn Chamber Foundation secured Safe & Clean funding from the City of Cincinnati to create a mural for one of these spaces: the Sycamore Hill retaining wall which was in need of graffiti abatement. Future Blooms, a neighborhood enhancement program of Keep Cincinnati Beautiful, in conjunction with Uptown Consortium and the Christ Hospital, created a large mural on the wall bordering one of the thoroughfares to Uptown.

The image, depicting Historic Mt. Auburn, was chosen in part because it mimics the Mt. Auburn Chamber of Commerce logo.
Since 2009, Future Blooms has installed eight murals. The program is also known for enhancing more than 420 buildings and 110 vacant lots in Cincinnati’s urban core.
