Uptown Cheers to "Drink In Ludlow"
Ludlow Avenue has never seemed more alive than it did last night at the first ever “Drink in Ludlow” wine walk. By 6pm the street was bursting with color, from the red and blue balloons on business doors to the radiant Adrian Durban flowers carried in each guest’s hand. All together 18 shops and restaurants opened their doors to serve an array of free red and white wines. Whether you were 21 or not, every age from infants to grandparents, found a way to enjoy their stroll down Ludlow Avenue. Guests enjoyed complimentary chocolate from Graeter’s and sipped wines as they perused jewelry and clothing and listened to music from various bands at Olives and Arlins.

But not only were attendees grateful for such an exciting evening in Ludlow, business owners claimed that they had never seen the area so busy on a week night. Paolo Salamone, owner of Paolo Jewelers, said, “This event is exactly what this area needs.” In addition to providing the neighborhood with a fun community centered evening, the event also served as a means to support local nonprofits. While the event is free to the public, each participating business donates a percentage of their participation fee to a local nonprofit organization. Last night’s participating business donated to the Clifton Branch Public Library.

If you missed the event last night, do not worry because there will be another one on October 10th. The Uptown Consortium was proud to partner with Far-I-Rome Production’s to host this great event.
